Saudi Arabia to host Round 3 of FIA Baja WorldCup

 The Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) will host the Sharqiyah International Baja Toyota, round three of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Bajas, on March 3rd-6th 2021.

 

Following hot on the heels of the opening round held through the frozen Russian wastelands in early February and this week’s second round in the UAE’s Al-Qudra desert, Saudi Arabia’s round of the series will take place in the Eastern Province.

Based at the Holiday Inn Resort on Half Moon Bay, Sharqiyah International Baja Toyota will be held over three days of off-road competition. Following administration and scrutineering checks on Wednesday, March 3, the timed action gets under way with a qualifying stage of approximately 11km on Thursday, March 4.

The first selective section of around 220km enters the spotlight on Friday, March 5 in the sandy deserts to the west of the commercial centre of Khobar and a second competitive leg of approximately 210km rounds off the action on Saturday, March 6.

The SAMF held the first ever Sharqiyah Baja through the Eastern deserts in December 2019. This event was won by local driver Yazeed Al-Rajhi and ran as an FIA candidate event as well as being the fifth round of the Saudi Desert Rally Championship.

The area also hosted a candidate event and a round of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship in 2008 and 2010. Both events were won by Al-Rajhi and French co-driver Matthieu Baumel. The closing date for entries is Wednesday, Feb.24.

Saudi Ministry : No authority to verify expat experience certificates

  

Riyadh : Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor Affairs (MHRSD) Abdul Majeed Al-Rashoudi said that there is no Saudi authority to verify experience certificates of expatriates, whether within the Kingdom or outside.

He explained that the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions abroad attest their university degrees only and the  experience certificate of expatriates is normally attested by there country.

Al-Rashoudi further said that expatriates with specialized professions cannot change the profession inside the Kingdom, except with a license from the authority related to the profession, such as the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and the Saudi Council of Engineers.

The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will be held in the coastal city of Jeddah in month of November 2021.

Hence , Saudi Arabia will become the 33rd country to Host a Formula 1 race.

The Grand Prix will be a night race and will be held on a street track in Jeddah City.

Saudi Arabia will be the 33rd country to host an F1 race. The country has already hosted other international motorsport events such as the Dakar Rally, Formula E and Race of Champions.

As per today's update to Eatmarna App, there have been some Major changes introduced in the app for booking of Umrah service.

Under new changes for Umrah pilgrims,

1. One Umrah can be performed in 30days only.

2. Booking of Transport services is made mandatory for Performing Umrah.

3. Umrah Pilgrims can book Umrah from only Kudai center & AlShisha Center.

If you are a resident of Saudi Arabia and wish to perform Umrah for a second time, then you will have to wait for 30days before you can book your Umrah.

The other major change Umrah is that, you can now able to book Umrah service from TWO Umrah locations, Kudai Center and AlShisha center (beside jamarat).

From the Umrah gathering points, a bus will take the pilgrims to Makkah, the fees for transport service is SR20 per pilgrim.

So, if a person has selecetd an Umrah Slot and he is unsuccessful in booking the Transport service, then the Umrah slot will Not be confirmed.

The Payment of for Transport service is being done through Eatmarna Payment Gateway STS Payone, which is a service from Arab National bank

1million Riyal fine and Jail for employing unlicensed engineers in SaudiArabia

 

Saudi Arabia’s Public Prosecution issued a statement on 22Dec2020, prohibiting the employment of engineers who are not professionally accredited while also announcing heavy fine of SR 1Million and 1 year jail for the employers..

The prosecution also stated that it is not permissible to use a speciality or a professional degree that is not accredited.

It also warned against providing incorrect data with the intention of getting accreditation or a professional license as well as the impersonation of a classified title without being professionally accredited engineers.

The statement added that it is prohibited to commit any of the following actions:

— Providing false data or resorting to illegal methods for getting professional accreditation/a license or its renewal and for obtaining a professional degree.

— Using any means of publicity and advertisement to show the entitlement to practice one of the engineering professions without obtaining the necessary professional license or accreditation.

— Impersonation of titles for professional degrees granted to accredited professionals.

The Public Prosecution stressed that it will conduct investigations and prosecute all those who are found guilty of committing any of the above-motioned acts, noting that the offenders will face imprisonment for a maximum period of one year or a fine of up to SR1 million.

Weather Alert issued until Thursday in Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Civil Defence has issued Weather warnings  for several parts of Saudi Arabia starting from Tuesday until Thursday.

General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection has also forecasted an increased chance of thunderstorms.
The Saudi regions most likely to be affected were the capital Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, Hail, Qassim, the Eastern Province, and the Northern Borders Region.
All were expected to experience light to medium rain and brisk winds, and heavy downpours, possibly leading to flooding, were predicted in some parts of the country.
The Civil Defense has called on all residents of saudi arabia to stay away from areas prone to flash flooding or high-water levels.

The Kingdom is being added to the global network of Google Cloud Platform regions, as part of a strategic alliance agreement signed between Aramco and Google Cloud this month.

Google Cloud will establish and operate a new cloud region in Saudi Arabia, while a new company will be formed to supply cloud solutions and services to enterprise customers, with an emphasis on businesses inside the Kingdom.

The collaboration taps into rapidly expanding cloud services demand in Saudi Arabia, which is forecasted to reach a market opportunity of up to $10 billion by 2030.

Covid-19 has also contributed to the increased dependence on online services and digital solutions.

Saudi Arabia announces new Covid-19 Travel restrictions for Air, Land and Sea borders

 Saudi Arabia Suspends All International Flights for Travellers, Temporarily for a Week, Extendable by Another Week.

 As per Official sources , the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's government has decided to take the following precautionary measures, due to the spread of new strain of Novel Corona Virus:

First: 

Suspension of international flights for travelers, except in exceptional cases, temporarily for one week, which can be extended for another week.

 The foreign flights that are currently inside the Kingdom, will however be allowed to leave.

Second:

Entry has been suspended in SaudiArabia through land and sea ports temporarily for one week, which can be extended for another week.

Third: 

Anyone who has returned from one of the European countries or any country where the new strain has appeared after 08/12/2020, as determined by the Ministry of Health must adhere to the following:
1- The Individual has to do Home isolation for 14Days, starting from the date of arrival in SaudiArabia
2- He/She should take a COVID-19 test during the isolation period and retake the test every five days.

Fourth: Anyone who has returned from or passed through a European country, or any country where the new strain has appeared, during the past three months, must take a COVID-19 test.

Fifth:

The movement of goods, commodities and supply chains from countries where the new strain of COVID-19 has not appeared are excluded from the above-mentioned measures, as determined by the Ministry of Health in coordination with the Ministry of Transport.

All the above procedures will be reviewed as per the reports from the Ministry of Health, and it will be decided whether to extend the restrictions by one more week.

Ministry of Interior outlines fines for violation of Covid19 regulations

Fine on limited space Non-Family gatherings of more than 50 People.

 

The Minstry of Interior (MOI) has informed today that the attendance or invitation to non-family gatherings of 50+ people in one or limited space is a violation of the covid-19 regulations.

The ministry further said that any gathering inside homes, rest houses, farms, camps, chalets, or open areas of more than 50 in one or limited space will invite a fine of SR15,000 for the facility and the official, and SR5,000 for attendees and invitees.

A repeat violation will carry a fine of SR30,000 for the facility and the official and   SR10,000 for the attendees and invitees.

MOI added that if the violation will be committed for the third time by the facility and the official, the fine will be doubled and the official will be referred to the Public Prosecution and attendees and invitees too will be prosecuted.

The ministry urged the public to inform it about any illegal gathering by making a call to the toll free number 999 in all regions of the Kingdom and 991 in Makkah region.

Dubsmash gets acquired by Reddit

Dubsmash ,  which started as a Lip-sync video creation app and later Short videos, was today acquired by Reddit.

An official Blog post by Reddit says, “While Dubsmash will maintain its own platform and brand, we also look forward to bringing our teams together to combine the unique creator experience of Dubsmash with the community growth engine of Reddit,” says the official blog post.

Many of us might remember Dubsmash as a lip-sync video creation app. It has caught the attention of the teenagers around 2016, as it allowed them to re-enact their favorite movie scenes, music videos and much more.
