Khabib Nurmagomedov's Olympic plans after buying MMA Promotion

  • Khabib has announced his plan to have MMA included in 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
  • Khabib is working to promote MMA around the world.
  • Khabib turned Promoter after purchasing MMA Fighting League last week.

UFC lightweight champion Khabib (The Eagle) Nurmagomedov turned from a fighter to a promoter when he bought the Gorilla Fighting Championship (GFC) last week.

The GFC is currently based out of Khabib's hometown of Dagestan and it has two more championships coming up this year. The purchase was said to be made for an estimated $1Million. As per reports, Khabib will rename GFC to Eagle Fighting Championship (EFU).




Khabib has also today announced that he is working to get the MMA included in the Olympic 2028.

At a press conference in Uzbekistan Khabib said,  'The inclusion of MMA in the Olympics is one of my main tasks for the next couple of years, we are already working in this direction."

He added: “The only question is the cruelty of the sport. This is not encouraged at the Olympics, they do not want there to be a lot of blood. But in terms of recognition, sponsorship, in terms of interest for television, MMA, I think that if it enters the Olympics program, it will be on a par with football and athletics in interest.”


The Pound for Pound No. 1 UFC Fighter sure has big plans lined up for this MMA fans.
