SCE Exam details for Engineers Residing in Saudi Arabia

 It was recently announced by the MOMRA that the Engineers should pass the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) exam for the renewal of their Iqama.  SCE Exam is Mandatory.


TEST STRUCTURE for All Engineers

The Exam will be divided in Two Parts.

1. First One is for Fresh Engineer (FE) , which will be Basis on Basics and Principles of Engineering.

2. Second One is for Professional Engineer (PE), which has been developed for those engineers who have completed 10+ Years of service to Qualify to work as Project Director.



PART 1 EXAM - FE / FS

The Fundamental of Engineering (FE)/ Fundamental of Surveying (FS) will be the first step towards the degree of a Professional Engineer PE. 
The FE /FS exam  is designed for newly graduated engineers and engineering students in the last year “Senior Year”.

The Test provider for this Exam is 
National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), a Non-Profit Organisation Head Quartered in USA.

The FE / FS exam is administered year-round by the NCEES.
The Exam will be Online Computer Based conducted by approved Pearson VUE test center.

Test Format:
The exam can be taken round the year in testing windows at NCEES-approved Pearson VUE test centers. The exam is computer-based.

Conditions for taking the FE / FS Exam:
1) All candidates should be having a valid membership with SCE.
2) 
All candidates should must be residing within geographical boundaries of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Cost of FE/FS Exam:
The Exam fee is divided into Two Parts.
1. NCEES Registration fees. - An exam fee of $200 (Approx SR 750) is payable directly to NCEES during the registration process.
2. SCE Application Fees - An application fees of SR 1500/- to SCE on applying for the exam.

All the fees paid will be non-refundable.



PART 2 -  EXAM - PE /PS

The Professional Engineer (FE)/ Professional Surveying (FS) PE / PS Exam is the Final step towards the degree of a Professional Engineer PE / Professional Surveyor. 
The PE/PS exam will test the ability to practice competently in a particular engineering discipline. It is designed for engineers who have atleast FIVE Years of work experience in their chosen engineering discipline. 

Please Note that FE /FS Exam  is a pre-requisite for PE / PS
It is administered as paper and pencil exam, twice in a year; in April and October.

Conditions for taking the PE / PS Exam:
The applicant 
1) Must have a valid membership with SCE,
2) Must have passed FE/FS Exam, and
3) Must have a minimum of five years practicing experience in engineering.


Cost of PE / PS Exam:

The Exam fee is divided into Two Parts.

1. NCEES Registration fees. - An exam fee of $350 for PE ($325 for PS) is payable directly to NCEES during the registration process.
2. SCE Application Fees - An application fees of SR 2500/- to SCE on applying for the exam.
All the fees paid will be non-refundable.
