Saudi Arabia’s Public Prosecution issued a statement on 22Dec2020, prohibiting the employment of engineers who are not professionally accredited while also announcing heavy fine of SR 1Million and 1 year jail for the employers..
The prosecution also stated that it is not permissible to use a speciality or a professional degree that is not accredited.
It also warned against providing incorrect data with the intention of getting accreditation or a professional license as well as the impersonation of a classified title without being professionally accredited engineers.The statement added that it is prohibited to commit any of the following actions:
— Providing false data or resorting to illegal methods for getting professional accreditation/a license or its renewal and for obtaining a professional degree.
— Using any means of publicity and advertisement to show the entitlement to practice one of the engineering professions without obtaining the necessary professional license or accreditation.
— Impersonation of titles for professional degrees granted to accredited professionals.
